IT IS SAFEST TO PREPARE A FRESH FEED EACH TIME ONE IS NEEDED AND TO CONSUME IMMEDIATELY

This is because prepared feeds provide ideal conditions for bacteria to grow - especially when kept at room temperature.

However, if you need to prepare feeds in advance for use later, they should be prepared in individual bottles, cooled quickly and placed in the refrigerator. An untouched prepared formula bottle will keep for 12 hours in the fridge and two hours at room temperature. It’s important to discard any prepared formula after this time.

Once your baby has started a bottle (even just a sip!) throw away leftovers after one hour. Never put it back in the refrigerator.
